I was going to say it’s the most fun I’ve had at a race I wasn’t in, but given I didn’t have to suffer at all, safe to say it’s the most fun I’ve had at a race… period.
While these folks have done races before, this was their first of this length. I expected rough moments: coming out too fast, feeling beaten and hurt, the temptation to quit. But there was none of that. They came ready to get after it, and all performed like experienced ultra racers. Consistent pacing, unflinching when things got tough, disciplined in the pit. Everyone of them absolutely crushed it.
